It appears the bad luck of losing offensive players to injury has followed the Kansas City Chiefs into the 2025 season. The team suffered three injuries on Tuesday’s practice, with Xavier Worthy, Skyy Moore, and Hollywood Brown going down in practice.
Brown appeared to be the worst of the injuries, as he had to be carted off the field. However, updates indicate that the star receiver avoided a serious injury.
Worthy also went down after he had made a diving grab for a pass, only to hit his head on the ground. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid indicated that Worthy “banged his head.”
Reid did not offer more than that, but a new update has been revealed regarding Worthy’s status.
Reid revealed that Worthy is now in concussion protocol, which is unfortunate. The second-year receiver could miss multiple days and more should the severity of the concussion be high.
The Chiefs might also get some good news about Worthy, and he could clear the concussion protocol in a matter of days. Reid will provide more updates in the coming days.

Kansas City has had some bad luck regarding injuries to the team’s top playmakers. In 2024, running back Isiah Pacheco was lost for majority of the season after suffering a fractured fibula in Week 2.
Brown was also deemed out for the season after suffering a sternoclavicular injury during preseason. Though it was initially stated he would be done for 2024, he returned to play in Weeks 16 and 17.
Juju Smith-Schuster and Worthy also dealt with injuries of varying degrees. The hope was that 2025 would be different for Patrick Mahomes, but it is looking like the Chiefs might have to address their playmakers in a bigger way.
The silver lining is that Worthy, Brown, and Moore are dealing with injuries right now, as opposed to dealing with them before the start of the regular season.
Getting injured and missing any part of the beginning of the season would not be great for a Chiefs team that is hoping to start off strong. Despite the injuries in 2024, Mahomes and company were still able to make it to the Super Bowl.
Though the belief would be that the Chiefs can do the same thing again, that might not be the case in 2025. Every top AFC team got better and will be gunning for that top spot.
