Training camp is where players compete, sharpen timing, and grind for roster spots. But on Thursday morning at Ray Nitschke Field, Packers QB Jordan Love gave fans a moment they’ll never forget — and it had nothing to do with stats.
After throwing a deep touchdown to Bo Melton during a team drill, Love jogged slowly toward the end zone, raised both hands to the sky, then pointed to his chest.
No celebration. No trash talk. Just silence… and a glance above.

Reporters at practice didn’t catch the meaning — until Jordan Love spoke during post-practice media availability, and emotions quickly overwhelmed the room.
“There was a guy I played with in college. Passed away last week. One of the best teammates I ever had — the kind of guy who never made the headlines, but made all of us better. Today felt like he was here.”
While Love didn’t initially name the player, sources close to the team later confirmed he was referring to former Utah State teammate Devin Centers, who tragically passed in a car accident just days earlier.
