Kyle Busch was involved in a big wreck at the NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond Raceway on Saturday night and was not happy about it. After the wreck, Busch shared a strong reaction to his team.
“It’s f***ing killed. The nose is killed,” Kyle Busch told his team about the No. 9 Chevrolet. 12 cars were involved in the wreck that happened nearly halfway through the race. Chase Elliott took the most damage and received his first DNF of the season.
The wreck was the last thing Busch needed as he’s looking for a victory in one of the final two races of the regular season to clinch a playoff spot. Before the Richmond race, Busch was asked if he was feeling the pressure to get the job done.
“I don’t think so, no. We just know time is running out, but I don’t think the pressure is any greater,” Busch told Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports. “It’s just a matter of being able to get it done, and right now is the best time so you can try to go prepare for a championship.”

Kyle Busch added, “I’m not stressed out over it. I think we go to each and every single weekend with the mindset of trying to go out there and win. We haven’t put ourselves in that position to score a victory, so we need to, but I wouldn’t say this weekend puts any added pressure on.”
The last time Busch won a Cup Series race was on June 4, 2023, at Gateway. This is not normal for Busch, as he has won at least one race from 2005 to 2023, which has led to him having 63 victories in his career.
Earlier this month, Busch spoke about his playoff chances when there were three races remaining in the regular season. “I feel really good about our opportunities in the next three weeks,” he said on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. “It’s all about execution, being able to do our job right, that includes me, and going out there and setting some fast laps, being in control and being able to do that, having good pit stops on pit road, having good strategy and the race kind of fall our way. It seems like that’s more of the case these days. Having a fast car and driving up through the field, that doesn’t seem to be the case as much anymore.”
