The ambitious facility will serve as more than a traditional animal shelter. Designed to feel more like a retreat than a rescue center, Paws of Promise will feature:

• Individual, home-like kennels with beds, blankets, and personal play space

• A veterinary hospital and rehabilitation center for injured and sick animals

With capacity for up to 1,500 dogs at a time, Barkley says the facility’s goal is to rehome more than 5,000 dogs per year.
