BREAKTHROUGH! Bills Spend $36 Million on “The Perfect Piece” – Josh Allen Ready to Fly Higher! -duy2k3

Before the offseason began, the Buffalo Bills were already known as a Super Bowl contender. They reached the conference title game despite not fielding a recognized and legit No. 1 receiving option in the passing game.

It’s why the Bills made multiple moves to address that significant need this offseason.

From Elijah Moore to Laviska Shenault, Buffalo looked for different types of receivers to help bolster their offense. But the big hire came courtesy of the Los Angeles Chargers.

Joshua Palmer: "Excited To Get To Work" | Buffalo Bills

Joshua Palmer signed a three-year, $36 million deal with the Bills at the start of free agency. Through his first few months with the team, he has stood out as a dependable and athletic fit for their scheme.

“He’s (Palmer) been a seamless fit for our room,” said offensive coordinator Joe Brady. “He’s a guy that can play all the positions, play inside, play outside. It was a great get for us.”

Palmer recorded 182 catches for 2,287 yards and 10 touchdowns in four seasons with the Chargers. He has recorded over 500 yards receiving in each of the last three years.

Will Joshua Palmer break out in his contract year?

As dependable as Palmer has been throughout his young career, he still isn’t a No. 1 receiver.

But that’s OK for Buffalo at this point as they work to improve the group as a whole.

The Bills already have quality veterans at receiver, including young Keon Coleman and solid Khalil Shakir. Palmer can be part of a quality trio with the other two on the roster, especially with a league MVP in Josh Allen throwing him the football.

Buffalo opted to move past the need for an All-Pro wide receiver to lead their room over the last two seasons. Only time will tell if that strategy, and Palmer’s arrival, will pay off by lifting Allen and helping him with a long-awaited Super Bowl visit.
