NASCAR’s Cup Series race in Atlanta very much lived up to the hype on Saturday evening.
The NASCAR Cup Series arrived in Atlanta over the weekend. The Quaker State 400 Presented by Walmart took place at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. It was a fun one.
Chase Elliott ended up taking home the win, while Brad Keselowski and Alex Bowman rounded out the top three. Meanwhile, Tyler Reddick and Erik Jones finished in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
Some NASCAR fans were calling it the best race of the year. It featured an exciting finish, a massive crash and some big moves. NASCAR fans were certainly pleased with it.
“Make Atlanta the new 4th of July weekend race! All you have to do is move it back one more week! You can make it happen! If we can never go back to Daytona for July 4th, Atlanta would be better!” one fan suggested.
“If you didn’t like last nights race, I really don’t know what else you could want from the sport,” another fan wrote.
“This reminded me so much of the early 2000s restrictor plate racing. Huge runs, dive bombs, side drafting. It was the best race HANDS DOWN, of the season. Even if Chase didn’t win it, this was my view,” one fan added.
“This might be the highest rated race of the year,” one fan added. “It’s a great track from a fans perspective. It’s had it all: lots of passing, close finishes, wrecks, etc.”
Longtime NASCAR Cup Series star Dale Earnhardt Jr., who has been calling Cup Series races for Amazon Prime this season, had a two-word reaction to the Cup Series race in Atlanta.
“Hot damn,” he wrote on X.
Clearly, the legendary NASCAR Cup Series driver was a big fan of the race. It’s easy to see why, too. NASCAR’s Cup Series race in Atlanta had just about everything you could ask for.
Hopefully, we’ll get more races like that moving forward.
