Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning is entering his first season as the clear-cut starting quarterback for the program. After a couple of years of major hype, Manning will now have the opportunity to prove the high expectations right.

Entering the 2025 college football season, Texas is widely considered to be one of the best teams in the nation. If Manning lives up to the hype, the Longhorns could very well make a national championship run.
Looking ahead to the future, Manning is eligible to enter the 2026 NFL Draft. There is a chance that the nephew of NFL legends Eli Manning and Peyton Manning will be playing professional football next year.

With that being said, Manning has been watching two quarterback very closely. He’s a big fan of both Joe Burrow and Josh Allen and spoke out about that fact in a recent interview.
“I’m watching a lot of Josh Allen and Joe Burrow right now. Those are my guys,” Manning said. “They’re dogs. I’ve watched some of their college film. They’re just good players, elite competitors and fun to watch.”
He continued on, talking more in-depth about Allen. It’s clear that he’s somewhat modeling his game after the Buffalo Bills’ superstar signal caller.

“He’s just the ultimate football player. If something’s not there, he’s going to make something happen and do whatever he can to make his team win,” Manning said.
Last season in limited time with Texas, Manning showcased some of his ability. He completed 67.8 percent of his pass attempts for 939 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions, while also running for 108 yards and four more scores.
Standing at 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, Manning is the ideal size for an NFL quarterback. He’s not the most athletic quarterback in the nation, but he’s more than capable of extending plays and making plays on the ground as well.

If he can continue picking up tricks of the trade from quarterbacks like Allen and Burrow, he’ll be in a good place. Between his own natural ability and taking pieces of successful NFL quarterbacks’ games, the future could not be brighter.
All of that being said, it will be interesting to see what the 2025 season has in store for Manning with the Longhorns. He has the keys to the offense and will look to lead Texas to championship contention and then have a major decision to make about his future and potentially entering the draft.
